This #Aesthetic Café In Baguio Is a Must-Visit for K-Drama Fans

The first floor of the shop will remind you of Danbam in Itaewon Class.

With everything that's been going on—Metro Manila back under MECQ, the Delta and Lambda variants spreading across the land—it might be a while until we're able to get on a plane and roam the streets of South Korea again. And while there are plenty of takeout and delivery options for food that'll satisfy our Korean cravings (or should we say K-ravings?), sitting in a café just hits different. Good news is you don't have to go too far for an experience that's straight out of your favorite K-Drama. A cool new spot called Seollem Cafe opened in Baguio, and we're already daydreaming about our future visit!

Check out this new Korean coffee shop and restaurant in Baguio called Seollem Cafe:

Seollem Cafe is the brainchild of Pat Bernardo and RM de Vera as well as their business partners. In the beginning of the pandemic, the two got hooked on K-Drama sensation Crash Landing On You, and eventually, on Korean culture as a whole. This obsession would kickstart their desire to open a Korean-themed café. In an interview with Cosmopolitan Philippines, Bernardo said, "We are not a Korean-inspired café; we are a Korean café."

"You'll see familiar plugs, light switches, furniture, utensils, towels, trays, lamps, chillers, aprons, caps, packaging, and brands from K-Dramas and Korean commercials since [most] of Seollem Cafe is from South Korea," shares the entrepreneur. "Most of the ingredients and cooking equipment are from South Korea, too. Our flavor profiles and aesthetic are 100% Korean. We do it as close as you can get." The goal? "We want to make your heart flutter each time you visit us," says Bernardo. Hoping to educate their customers about the culture, Seollem Cafe's staff or chingus (the Korean word for friend) are trained through classes on the language and trends in Korea.

The first floor of Seollem Cafe is reminiscent of Danbam (yes, from Itaewon Class), thanks to its industrial interiors and cozy fixtures. The top floor, on the other hand, has an office-style look that may remind you of Yoon Se Ri's space in CLOY. Don't forget to snap some pretty IG pics when you drop by!

Seollem Cafe also has Korean fried chicken in a variety of flavors: Original (P310), Yangyeom (P330), Fire (P330), Cheese (P350), Garlic Parmesan (P370), Soy (P330), and Korean Buffalo (P350). Pair them with a glass of cold beer and you'll probably never want to leave Baguio!

If you're in the mood for some pasta, they have two kinds: the Shrimp Rose Pasta (P230) and Bulgogi Pasta (P225). They also offer many types of sandwiches and two of their must-try selections are the Premium Toasts and the Korean Street Toasts.

What's a great meal without a refreshing beverage to go with it? For drinks, some of the bestsellers include their Misutgaru Tea Latte (starts at P135), Black Sesame Latte (starts at P145), and Matcha Tea Latte (P165/P185).

Bernardo and her partners have a lot in store for Seollem Cafe. They are already planning to launch Korean trucks—yes, like the ones celebs send each other to show their support! They're also thinking of serving corn dogs, popular Korean street food, and pastries. Plus, they're exploring how to best showcase several kinds of Korean cafés from different provinces in the country with their famous dishes. Seollem Cafe is at 74 Del Nacia Apartments, Camp 7, Baguio City.
