(SPOT.ph) Raise your hands if you randomly ordered Tropical Hut recently after decades of not doing so. Yup, we're sure you were hit by that massive wave of nostalgia courtesy of one Twitter user, an empty Escolta branch, and a damn good lookin' burger. The viral tweet from June 13 by @dumidyeypee has caused quite an after effect, and it's all well-deserved for one of the oldest fastfood chains in the Philippines. In fact, the nostalgia hit so hard that the chain posted an advisory about low supplies on their Facebook page on Monday, June 20, just a week or so after the Internet exploded.Â

Tropical Hut posts advisory on low supplies after nostalgia wave online

"Thank you for your overwhelming support," said Tropical Hut's post. Although they didn't specify which items were "low in stock" we can only imagine their bestsellers on the list. Think the Classic Burger, their chicken, the sandwiches, and definitely their rice meals. Okay, so that's more or less their entire menu but you get the point.Â

Before this advisory, Tropical Hut posted a huge thank you too "for the heartwarming words of appreciation." This came on June 16, just a few days after the Internet waxed nostalgic about the burger joint. A peek at their Facebook feed shows that all of their posts since this one have gone viral; here's hoping this interest is sustained.

Tropical Hut has been around since 1965 and was created by tycoon Mariano Que, the same guy behind Mercury Drug. From being a burger joint, there menu has extended to a lot of other faves as mentioned above. Plus, we can't not mention their fresh brews in the morning!
