(SPOT.ph) Barbecue is found in different iterations around the world, but the Philippines' version—dubbed BBQ or inihaw, and done over the charcoal grill—ranks high as some of the best, in our book. That ain't just our bias talking. There's something about the umami-forward character of Pinoy BBQ marinades, coupled with the smokiness and char the grill can bring, that makes for divine skewers that always hit the spot. Now if there's any establishment that's got a great handle on Filipino fare, it's Manam—and now they're taking on the art of the Filipino barbecue over at their new ihawan in Makati, Manam's Mama Nams!

Try isaw, BBQ, and more at the new inihaw eatery from the folks of Manam:

Manam's Mama Nams is on soft launch but now open for dine-in, and you'll find them along Arnaiz Avenue in Makati. Open from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. every day, the eatery's got your essential ihaw cuts and proteins—including Pork BBQ (P230/three sticks), Liempo (P295), Chicken Paa (P295), Chicken Petso (P295) Whole Pusit (P445), Whole Bangus (P390), Isol (P85/stick), Isaw (P55/stick), and Puso (P95/stick). Take your pick between inasal and inihaw styles of the barbecue, too.

The said proteins can be had by themselves with beer—they've got San Miguel (P90/bottle, P525/bucket of six) and Engkanto (P290/bottle) brands, as well as a Champagne of the Moment (P3,800) if that's what you fancy. But while you're here, consider making it a meal with white (P50), garlic (P50), or garlic java (P50) rice on the side. Also on their lineup is pancit, of the likes of the Pancit Bihon (P100), Squid Ink Palabok (P155), and Mama Nams Batchoy (P345).
