(SPOT.ph) Inka Magnaye is officially the first Philippine-based artist to become part of the DC Universe. You'll be hearing her voice as the Scarab in the upcoming movie Blue Beetle for the Philippine release. Not only is she the only other Khaji Da, the Scarab's name, for this movie globally, it looks like she exercised the power of manifestation for this massive role.

"I manifested this. If you go through my Twitter, from before, I think I made like a tweet: 'manifesting, number one, being a voiceover character video game, two voicing over a superhero, like DC,' so I really wrote it down," said Magnaye during a press conference on August 9. Years down the road, "here we are."
Any millennial or Gen Z knows that manifestation is more than just saying a dream out loud, though we can't discount the power of prayer circles and tweeting it with a "cutie" either. A ton of hard work must go in to make it true, too. For Magnaye, it all started when she started creating content online.
She shared that she had a conversation with her mom at the start of the pandemic, when TikTok off. Magnaye had asked her mother, "When you think of people who are viral now, [you can] think of a dancer, a chef, a viral model or singer, all these things, but can you think of a viral voiceover?". The reply? A no, as expected.
"That's going to be me," Magnaye told her mom. "When people think of voiceover here in the Philippines, I want them to think of me first."
So she started working on creating content, making a name for herself and her industry online. "Before I did this, I always had to explain what being a voiceover was about. They didnt realize it was a job," she shared. Some people would even comment "Ah, totoong tao pala 'yan. Akala ko robot lang," she said jokingly.
All that came to fruition with an email from Warner Bros. telling her about the opportunity. And no, she didn't even have to audition. "[Inka] was the choice from the beginning. Because when we heard the opportunity to do the voiceover for the Scarab, there was just one person in mind," Digital Marketing Manager Bonch Santos said during the conference.
"They wanted me from the beginning," Magnaye shares, explaining that she's honestly still processing it all. Thankfully, she was of course able to deliver workwise, but the magnitude is yet to hit. Still, "When Bonch said I was the only one they thought of, I thought of all those years since I started my TikTok. I was like, 'I did the work for this, I planted the seed for this.'"
Magnaye is set to be the only other Scarab for this movie, apart from singer Becky G who voices the character for the worldwide release.
