Is Olivia Rodrigo Coming to Manila?

(SPOT.ph) It might not be a bad idea to start saving up now, Livies. Olivia Rodrigo is bringing her Guts World Tour in Manila, which marks her first-time stepping foot in the Philippines, too!

What we know about Olivia Rodrigo’s concert in Manila so far

On May 9, Rodrigo posted Asia and Australia stops of the Guts World Tour to her social media. You won't see Manila on the list, but look to the little violet star to see "Stay tuned, Manila!" It looks like she's scheduled to visit sometime between September and October of this year.

As of September 10, Live Nation Philippines announced Rodrigo would be performing at the Philippine Arena on October 5. Read our updated story to know more.

Nothing else has been revealed about the concert, but we do know that Live Nation Philippines (LNPH) is likely the organizer behind the event.

Remember on March 31 when they dropped Easter eggs to hint on upcoming concerts to watch out for in the Philippines? The Facebook post has since been deleted, but it does include Rodrigo's signature stars at the middle right side of the graphic.

We also know that the LNPH pre-sale always happens the day before the general sale to the public, so make sure to register to become a member at the official website to access the exclusive pre-sale.

Olivia Rodrigo on coming to the Philippines

There have been several hints of the Filipino-American singer-songwriter coming to our shores—not that she's being secretive about it.

In December 2023, she talked to The Hollywood Reporter about her excitement to visit new places for the Guts World Tour.

"I'm so stoked. I think it's going to be so much fun to play those kinds of rock songs in an arena too,” Rodrigo said. "I'm so excited to go places that I haven't been before. I'm really excited to go to the Philippines—I've never been—so that's going to be fun.”

In March 2024, Universal Music Group Philippines posted a short clip of Rodrigo promoting her new single “obsessed,” but not before hyping up her Filipino fans with a promise to see them soon.

“What’s up, Philippines! It’s Olivia. I am so excited to see you soon,” Rodrigo said. “But before that, my new song ‘obsessed,’ is all yours on your favorite streaming platforms. I really hope you enjoy it and I can’t wait to see you soon. Sending so much love your way.”

This world tour is in support of her sophomore album “GUTS,” which was released on September 8, 2023 with singles like “vampire,” “bad idea right?” and “get him back!” Her debut album “SOUR” became a top hit with “drivers license” and “good 4 u,” earning her three Grammys in 2022.
