Parasite Has Been Called 2019's Best Movie, and You Can Catch It This August

(SPOT.ph) Even if you're not familiar with South Korean director Bong Joon Ho, you might have actually seen a few of his works already—he directed the Netflix original Okja, a modern fable about animal activism; Snowpiercer, which reimagines our world in endless winter aboard an endless train ride; and sci-fi monster flick The Host, the highest grossing South Korean film of all time. His most recent film, Parasite, has been described as the best movie of the year and won the Palme d'Or at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, and if you haven't gotten to see it, here's your chance: SM Cinemas is screening the film starting August 14.

Starring Song Kang Ho (Snowpiercer), Choi Woo Shik, (Train to Busan), and Park So Dam, the film follows the trials of a family rooted in poverty trying to secure jobs at the luxurious Park manor. Due to their lack of experience and credentials, they forge documents and conspire against the current staff in an attempt to acquire their desired positions.
