Catch Coldplay, Shakira, Usher + More In an Online Concert This Weekend
Several artists are uniting to raise awareness on the fight against COVID-19.
(SPOT.ph) Mark your calendars! A global online concert is making its way to local screens on June 28, 2 a.m., Philippine time, with acts by Miley Cyrus, Shakira, Usher, Coldplay, Jennifer Hudson, Chloe x Halle, Christine and the Queens, J Balvin, Justin Bieber and Quavo, and Yemi Alade. They're all coming together for the Global Citizen’s Global Goal: Unite For Our Future: The Concert, and is part of the campaign that aims to highlight just how badly the COVID-19 pandemic has affected marginalized communities.
The concert will be hosted by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson with appearances from a slew of actors and personalities: Billy Porter, Charlize Theron, Chris Rock, David Beckham, Derrick Johnson, Diane Kruger, Forest Whitaker, Hugh Jackman, Ken Jeong, Kerry Washington, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Olivia Colman, Opal Tometi, Salma Hayek Pinault, Antoni Porowski and more.
"The event aims to lift up the global community that is tackling equitable access to health care, and other enormous injustices facing our world. This critical moment in history requires all of us—so let’s join together to chart a better future, for everyone," said Johnson in a statement by Global Citizen.
