You Can Stream Your Name Sooner Than You Think
Get ready to have your heart broken and put together all over again.
(SPOT.ph) It's finally happening: Nearly four years after the Japanese anime film Your Name first came out in 2016 and wrecked then blessed our hearts with its story, it looks like you will be able to stream it online (legally). Your Name, a.k.a. Kimi no Na wa, is scheduled to drop on Netflix on July 10. Don't forget to mark your calendars and bring out the tissues!
Your Name is a heartwrenching coming-of-age film that centers around two teenagers separated by time and distance. One is a country girl named Mitsuha Miyamizu who dreams of the exciting Tokyo city life, the other is a city boy named Taki Tachibana. The two begin randomly switching bodies in a tale that involves old Japanese lore, an incoming meteor, and, of course, true love—not to mention their names.
Brought to us by Director Makoto Shinkai—who also gave us Weathering With You—Your Name is a beautiful film both visually and narratively. The tale managed to dethrone the Studio Ghibli classic Spirited Away as the highest grossing anime film in 2017, a testament to its being a quintessential anime film.
