Scooby-Dooby-Doo! Scooby-Doo Moments We'll Never Forget

Scooby-Doo co-creator Joe Ruby has passed away at 87.

( Mysteries, unforgettable antics, a group of friends, and a talking Great Dane—what else can you ask for in an animated series? Scooby-Doo has all these and more, so it's not a surprise that plenty of other versions and spin-offs have come out since the show premiered in 1969. It is regarded as one of the greatest cartoons of all time, spawning serveral reboots and films since the original season ended in 1976. On August 27, Scooby-Doo co-creator Joe Ruby passed away in Westlake Villge, California. He was 87.

"He never stopped writing and creating, even as he aged," said his grandson Benjamin Ruby, according to an article by Variety.
