(SPOT.ph) As if you needed any more reason to sink deeper into a comfy couch surrounded by blankets—with an S.O., if possible—in this cuddle weather! Netflix is gifting us with two of the most popular and feels-filled rom-coms to hit Philippine cinema in recent years: The Hows of Us, one of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla's biggest films to date, and Exes Baggage, which gave us the Angelica Panganiban and Carlo Aquino reunion we didn't even know we wanted. Best part? They both land on the streaming platform on Thursday, October 22!
In case you need a refresher, The Hows of Us has KathNiel take on the serious roles of George and Primo respectively. The two are in a long-term and committed relationship that spells happily-ever-after in every possible way—only their aspirations begin to take them on opposite paths in life. George is an overachiever aiming to become a doctor while Primo is a budding musician. The film is one heck of a reality-check for couples still in the honeymoon phase and in the hands of queen of romantic dramas, director Cathy Garcia-Molina, it manages to hit hard.
And you're probably better off watching Exes Baggage when you're in an emotionally sound place. It doesn't matter how many times you watch it, seeing real-life exes Panganiban and Aquino play fictional exes Pia and Nix—who reunite after a messy break up and yup, still carry a lot of baggage—always hits right in the feels.
We know it is probably not an attack or anything, but Netflix dropping both titles on the same day is leaving us in a fragile mood—and it hasn't even happened yet. Don't forget to prep your warmest blankets and mark your calendars!
this strange new world.
