(SPOT.ph) It's a great time for collabs in music. Britney has a duet with Elton John coming out, Doja Cat is singing bits of "Hound Dog" on the new Elvis soundtrack, and a Filipino movie musical is collab-ing with authentic truths to give useful insights into Philippine history. Just an all-around, productive and collaborative space for artists right now.
Speaking of artists in the Filipino scene, don't think we could gloss over folk-pop collective Ben&Ben, who recently teased that they have a collaboration on the way, with none other than Indonesian singer-songwriter Pamungkas. Details are scarce on when and what this collaboration will even bring forth, but we shall break down what we've learned.

Here's everything we know about Ben&Ben's collaboration with Pamungkas:
GNN Entertainment Productions confirmed that Ben&Ben is working on a two-part collab with "To the Bone" singer-songwriter Pamungkas. On Friday, August 5, the two acts filmed a video as part of the collab at an "undisclosed studio." This would sound very hostage negotiator-like if the music acts otherwise didn't appear as happy to be producing new music, as they do in the photos released below.
The two acts will also be performing, separately, at a music show at the 123 Block in Mandaluyong City on Saturday, August 6. Given that both acts will be live in-person at the event, they could surprise the audience and debut the collab song then and there, or maybe even just announce what the project is.
Pamungkas is currently on a Southeast Asian promotional tour for his fourth studio album, "Birdy," so we expect to hear an announcement regarding the Filipino collab definitely before he departs from the Philippines.
Filipino listeners will most likely know Pamungkas from his hit single "To the Bone," which peaked at No. 5 on Spotify Philippines in 2021.
Meanwhile, you could also say Ben&Ben are Busy&Booked as well, as they have a North American tour coming up in the next year that comprises eight cities between the United States and Canada.
The collab is only slated to "drop soon," but we'd be willing to bet it'll drop within the month of August. Maybe the Night of—okay, never mind. We tried with the pun. Let's move on now.
