(SPOT.ph) With recent horror outings of Totally Normal, Everyday Occurrences such as a cursed viral video, a serial killer murdering his own daughter, and an interdimensional monster beefing with literal children, it's fascinating that the most enjoyable entry of this bunch is a horror film wherein a 25-year-old actress portrays a nine-year-old murderer. Of course, we are talking about the much-talked-about prequel Orphan: First Kill.
While both a solid time at the cinemas and a worthy follow up to the 2009 cult classic, First Kill is perhaps most impressive for how it brought back Isabelle Fuhrman as the villainous orphan Esther without making any use of computer-generated imagery. The film, which has been a hit in cinemas, has generated enough buzz to warrant some rumblings of a sequel, and as always, we're here for it.

Here's what we know about the possible Orphan 3 movie:
Orphan: First Kill star Isabelle Fuhrman has been making the rounds for the United States promotional tour for the film's release, which has led to some discussions about the possibility of an Orphan 3. In an interview with Variety, Fuhrman was asked if we'd have to wait another 13 years for a follow-up, to which the actress replied:
"I don’t know. I do know that [producer Alex Mace] has already talked to me about doing a third one. And if the script is good, and people love this one, why not? I would love to do that. I don’t think we’re gonna have to wait 13 years because I don’t think it’s gonna be possible in 13 years. When you’re in your 20s you can still look like younger if you get on a little stool chair, or have children play you from multiple angles. But I would love the opportunity if it came up. I wouldn’t say no."
Well, if the producer is already excited about it, you already know that there's money to be made in the endeavor. Still, as Fuhrman states, a writing team has yet to break ground on a third film, which would also likely have to be a prequel, given that the character meets her demise at the end of the first film.
First Kill director also stated before, in an interview with Movie Web, that only a trilogy could "tell the full story," as he, Fuhrman, and producers have tossed around ideas of a third film that uncovered even more about what we don't know of Esther's life prior to the events of First Kill. She may look nine, but she's got about 30 years of backstory that we can still explore.
Orphan: First Kill is currently showing in PH cinemas. The first Orphan film is also streaming on Netflix.
