Manila Bay's "White Sand Beach" Is a Meme Gift That Keeps on Giving
What's your entry for the #ManilaBayChallenge?

(SPOT.ph) Following doubts on its safety and feasibility, Manila Bay's "white sand beach," officially opened to the public on Saturday, September 19, to coincide with International Coastal Clean-up Day. Crowds gathered at the corner where crushed dolomite shipped from Cebu was dumped reportedly as part of the city's beautification and rehabilitation efforts.Â

The "makeover," according to Harry Roque, is also meant to benefit mental health. And it seems it just might, even just for a while, because a photograph of a huge crowd (with zero social distancing) occupying the overpass near Baywalk over the weekend is now a gift that keeps on giving. People are now posting their own beach photos (or anywhere really), pretending they're the one being sought after by onlookers.
