(SPOT.ph) As a digital native (a.k.a. a person who grew up in the information age), Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto is not one to shy away from showing his funny side on social media. He has tons of quotable quotes on Twitter and meme-able posts on Instagram. And early this week, the 33-year-old public official just entered his food blogger era.
Vico Sotto as a Food Blogger
Sotto started on June 14 with his very own rating of "a great cake" with the hashtag #FoodBlog. Where's the cake from? No one knows. The Instagram (IG) Story post just showed an empty plate with remnants of what used to be the perfect-10 cake. "You must try it," he added.
It was followed up with a shoutout to members of the media: "Hi, sa mga media na nagfa-follow sa'kin, wag n'yo na po ibalita ulit 'yung food blog ko please. Inside joke lang namin 'to ng mga ka-IG. Nagmumukha tayong engot pag nasa news. Hahaha." In our defense, this article is under our Humor section.
His IG followers joined in on the fun, too. After all, it is an "inside joke." On June 15, he reposted several IG Stories showing food blogs ala-Vico Sotto, complete with empty plates and a huge dose of humor.
In one of the reposts, Sotto said, "Ganito dapat ang food review! Ba't tayo maniniwalang masarap kung di nga naubos nung blogger."
In other reposts, he jokingly called out the IG users. "Bawal mag-review ng sariling luto, nubayannn," he told someone who reviewed a couple of fried hotdogs that the user himself cooked.
"Ano to?? Parang di niyo sineseryoso ang pagiging food blogger ah. I quit," Sotto said after someone posted a photo of dead insects on a plate. Clearly, the young mayor is serious about his food blog.
IG Stories disappear after 24 hours. If you want to follow Sotto in his food blogger journey, just add him on Instagram.
