(SPOT.ph) Visiting Bonifacio Global City is unlike other parts of Metro Manila—this financial business district in Taguig that houses the must-visit malls and restaurants, open spaces, and corporate offices is described as car-centric to the point that some pedestrians—like this beauty queen—can only walk to their destination. Despite the lack of traditional options like jeepneys and tricycles, it pays to know that this modern city has BGC Bus for commuters.
BGC Bus is the only bus company that is allowed to operate within the commercial business district. The buses ply several routes in Makati, Bonifacio Global City, and Taguig, with a flat fare of P15. Departure intervals remain unspecified for now.
BGC Bus has two terminals: one is located at the intersection of EDSA and McKinley Road in Makati City, while the other is located at the back of Market! Market! facing C-5. The first one is within walking distance to MRT-3’s Ayala Station and One Ayala for more intermodal transport links.
Take note that the bus system uses the beep card for contactless payment. Just tap the card on the reader at the front of the bus beside the driver.
Those without a beep card can also opt to buy a physical QR ticket at the ticketing counter, but these are only available in the main terminals. Based on a our experience, if you fail to present a physical beep card at one of the stops (not the main terminals), drivers won't allow you to ride the bus.
