Up to Three Typhoons to Enter the PH in July: PAGASA
The rainy season is just getting started.
(SPOT.ph) Get ready for a rainy July as the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) predicts two to three typhoons are slated to enter the country this month.
PAGASA Weather Specialist Glaiza Escullar told Super Radyo dzBB that the same number of tropical cyclones are expected in August, September, and October, with an additional one or two expected in November and December.

Typhoons to expect in July
As of 4 a.m. on July 1, PAGASA Weather Specialist Obet Badrina reported that there were currently no typhoons or low-pressure areas outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).
Escullar explained this calm is due to the neutral weather conditions we’re experiencing. Being in a neutral condition means that there are no significant climate phenomena—like El Niño or La Niña—that are currently affecting weather patterns.
The last week of June’s uncertain ocean conditions have also prompted PAGASA to predict there is a 50% chance of La Niña developing from August to October, rather than its earlier forecast of September to November.
When the typhoons do arrive, Badrina said most are expected to pass over Bicol and Northern Luzon.
“Kapag ‘yung mga bagyo ay nasa northern part ng ating bansa, ito yung pagkakataon na nagkakaraon tayo ng enhanced habagat. Minsan kahit hindi tumatama ‘yung bagyo sa lupa, malakas pa rin ‘yung pagulan sa western section ng Luzon ay Visayas. Ito ay dulot ng pagpapalakas ng hanging habagat,” Badrina said.
