FIRST LOOK: MUJI Opens Largest PH Store in the North

(SPOT.ph) As a frequent mallgoer in the North as well as a minimalist shopper, chances are you already know that cult-fave Japanese brand MUJI is opening its first branch in the area, specifically in the North Towers. Who wouldn't notice the humongous board-ups since the start of this year? Well, we did, too. It's hard to miss them, especially if the board-ups are on either side of the hallway where you always pass through on your weekend mall trips up North. Yup, it's really that big. The SPOT.ph team had a chance to take a first look inside, and here's what went down.

Here's a glimpse of MUJI's largest branch in the PH:

It's the largest—2,500 square meters to be exact—so you bet there's going to be an overwhelming amount of anything and everything MUJI inside. Feel free to bask in 4,000+ no-frills and minimalist merchandise that fill every wall and shelf. 

Whether you're on the hunt for new basics or wanting to get that home upgrade, there's a section for everything you might need (or don't think you need but do)—from womenswear, menswear, and childrenswear, shoes, and socks (yes, there's a whole area for socks) to the kitchen, living room, bedding, and storage essentials. You can also bet that there's an area dedicated to the MUJI Labo and Walker line. It's impossible to miss MUJI's stationery, too, which you'll see right off the bat, with the stamping station. There's a map of the interiors plastered on the glass, so you'll know where to get what you want and need. 

They have shopping carts, so your arms won't get tired of lugging around all the items you grabbed because we know it's going to be a lot. Don't lie to yourselves. It'll be hard to resist not grabbing a thing or two (or ten) while you're inside. And trust us, you'd feel compelled to go in because you'll get surrounded by the store as you pass by the hallway. You can also see their offerings from the tall and wide windows. So yeah, keep your shopping buddies close and your wallets closer because you might get lost inside—which is, yet again, not a problem.

But that's not all, that's only the first half of the MUJI store. There's another area? Yep. It ain't the largest store in the country for naught. The other part of this MUJI branch, which is across the bigger one, consists of succulents and plants you'd want to decorate your home with. The plants are also something new from the Japanese brand.
