LOOK: MUJI's Shangri-La Plaza Coffee Counter Is Now Open

(SPOT.ph) Attention, all coffee lovers in Metro Manila! Get ready to add a new destination to your list of go-to coffee shops because MUJI has finally opened its second coffee counter, this time in Mandaluyong's Shangri-La Plaza. After months of waiting on bated breath, you can now grab your favorite cups of joe or MUJI teas sans a trip to their location in BGC. Here's your first glimpse of the Japanese brand's second café venture in the Metro.

Check out MUJI's second coffee counter at Shangri-La Plaza:

Located on the mall's fourth floor on the East Wing, right beside the Shangri-La Plaza MUJI store, is the newly opened MUJI Coffee Counter. Decked out in the brand's signature minimalist aesthetic, the new coffee counter is simple yet functional—staying true to its Japanese roots.

Wood is an overarching decorative choice, with most of the furniture and accents made from the material. This gives the café area a cozy and rustic ambiance, making it the place to be for those looking to work on the go or chill with their favorite cup of joe after a long day shopping. 

MUJI Shangri-La Plaza's Coffee Counter is slightly bigger than the existing coffee counter in Central Square, but it's still relatively small compared to most cafés. It has seating good for about 30 to 35 people, with most of the seats placed on long communal tables. Although, should you need more me time, there is a small couch area to the side with power outlets—a must-have for those looking to get some work done while drinking their coffee.

Fans of the MUJI Coffee Counter will be glad to know that all the menu items in the BGC Coffee Counter will also be available in Shang. Yup, for those closer to Shangri-La Plaza than Taguig, you can now sate your hankerings for MUJI coffee products and snacks sans the trip to BGC. 

Just in time for the new branch opening, MUJI also released a new line of Matcha-based summer drinks. First up, we have the Ichigo Matcha Latte. This refreshing blend of matcha and strawberry syrup is perfect for those who want to cool down without the jolt of caffeine. The Dark Matcha Latte, on the other hand, is for those who like their drinks with a kick. It's a matcha-based drink with a shot of espresso, so you get that rich coffee flavor with a creamy, earthy,  slightly sweet taste of the matcha. And last but not least, the Caramel Matcha Latte is perfect for those with a sweet tooth. This matcha-based drink also has a shot of espresso and caramel sauce, giving you that perfect balance of bitter and sweet.

With the next MUJI store slated to open this quarter at SM North Edsa, North peeps can only keep their fingers crossed that a MUJI Coffee Counter also opens on their side of the Metro. But for now, it looks like we have to either go to BGC or Shang for our fix of minimalist MUJI brews and bites.
