LOOK: Wide Open Spaces, an Amphitheater + More at The South's Newest Mall

(SPOT.ph) Since July, we have been looking forward to the opening of a new buzzing mall in the southern part of Metro Manila—Parañaque, to be more specific—called Parqal in Aseana City. Not more than a few months later, its doors are now open to the public, with some stores, restaurants, and services ready to serve shoppers who would come and visit—that is if you haven't during their opening weekend. Haven't had the chance to drop by? We at SPOT.ph got you a glimpse of the mall.

Check out what's in store in the new Parañaque mall, Parqal:

When we say there's a lot of walking, we mean that you'd definitely get your steps in. Just in front of the facade, facing Macapagal Boulevard, is the first wide area with fresh bouts of green. The open space between buildings, connected by the 300-meter-long canopy, is technically already the "inside" of the mall. 

Navigating the buildings, which will house retail and wellness shops, restaurants, services, and even offices, is pretty straightforward, and we mean you literally just go straight ahead jumping, err, walking from one building to another. No more a la Hogwarts trying to get to your destination. Elevated walkways connect the buildings without a hitch.

We spotted New Balance, Levi's, The Aivee Clinic, as well as Nuat Thai Foot & Body Massage for shops and services while Mary Grace, Dunkin', Chachago, and even a 7-Eleven et cetera for food options so far in their digital directories around the area. You'll also get a MC Home Depot and The Marketplace in the mall. We're also keeping an eye out for big store openings at Parqal with you.

In the middle are wide sidewalks with benches, perfect for when you just want to chill after all the walking. Our favorite has to be the courtyard, where a huge tree sits right in the middle of the water. It's the perfect landmark or meeting place in case your shopping buddy gets lost in all the shopping. "See that huge tree in the middle? Yeah! Just go there and you'll find me!"

Right before the last two buildings, at the end (from the Macapagal Boulevard entrance) is another open space—the amphitheater. We bet it's going to be a hit for the kids, and by extension the whole family, what with the ground fountain on the side and the tiers of seats (where parents and guardians can rest) not too far from it. The open-air venue can be used for events, entertainment, and performances as well. 

And that's not all. Across the amphitheater is the majestic chapel, the St. John Paul II Chapel, that can sit 500 people. It's open to the public daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.. In case you don't know the layout of the place is, check out below:
