(SPOT.ph) There’s a time and place for taking it easy. But when you’re looking to take your workout up a notch, CrossFit is a fantastic way to go. And if you're looking for CrossFit gyms in Metro Manila, you've come to the right place.

What is CrossFit?

The popular fitness program is a form of high-intensity interval training that can increase your strength and endurance, not to mention improve your body composition—which is to say you'll be feeling better and living longer, too.

CrossFit differs from other strength training programs in that it focuses on high-intensity, constantly varying functional movements, similar to actual moves you do in real life. It's essential that you perform these with proper form, lest you potentially injure yourself. Thankfully, there are gyms in Metro Manila specifically catering to CrossFitters that are more than ready to guide you into the CrossFit world and set you up for success. They'll take you through the basics, warm you up, tell you how to do the moves right, and prescribe and guide you through your WODs (that's "workout of the day") in the box (CrossFit speak for the gym).

As many WODs are held in groups, CrossFit also promotes teamwork and a sense of community—both crucial factors to success (and better mental health!). Expect to make friends with like-minded individuals in your box as you push yourselves through box jumps, kettlebell swings, pistols, snatches, and so on.
