(SPOT.ph) Ah, Opus Mall. The new, upscale mall along C5-Road and around the Bridgetowne area opened only just over a month ago and there are already a handful of stores, restaurants, and cafes in this relatively new haven for mallgoers. There are also the board-ups that promise more brands to shop and dine from in the coming months. But for now let's introduce you to its newly opened department store concept: Spatio.
It's a three-level store that houses a curation of not just your typical lifestyle labels. It showcases a mix of local and international brands, department store regulars, and services that will have you rethinking what department stores are really about. Spatio boasts a new, experiential concept, and SPOT.ph got an exclusive first look.

Opus Mall opens Spatio. Here's your first look into the new concept store.
Think of Spatio this way: It's a department store that's a mall within a mall.
Usually you'll find makeup stations, fitting rooms, service and customer centers for bill payments, credit card payments and many other features in department stores. While Spatio has all of the abovementioned—it has more. And when we say more, we mean there's a sneaker cleaning service, a barber shop, a coffee shop, a nail-slash-eyelash-slash-hair removal station. Yup, there's so much to experience here.
Spatio starts on the second floor of Opus Mall. The store is designed by renowned interior designer Maja Olivares-Co,2 who is also the brains behind Central Square Mall for the SSI group and many SSI stores, Josie Natori boutiques, among others. It has this modern, clean aesthetic with an asymmetrical facade that just flows throughout the interior.
Upon entering, there's a huge space dedicated to Sole Academy, a premier lifestyle sneaker boutique, and its wide offering of kicks. They will also have exclusive Spatio drops like this pair of Saucony sneakers above.
In one corner is its sneaker cleaning service, Sole Care, which offers basic cleaning services (P800), deep cleaning (P1,000), full midsole regluing (P3,000), full outsole regluing (P2,000), minor regluing (P800), midsole repainting (P1,500) and upper repainting that starts at P2,800. You can get your sneakers waterproofed at P500— perfect for the rainy season and Manila's unpredictable weather all year round.
A few steps away are sports brands such as adidas, Asics, Anta, Converse, and New Balance. The first floor also has menswear and accessories, as well as travel essentials like luggage from brands such as Samsonite, American Tourister, and Airwheels. There are also watches and eyewear here and The Tannery Manila which has Spatio exclusives as well.
But wait, there's more. You can actually get a haircut at Spatio, courtesy of Bruno's Barbers. It's not open yet, but they're targeting to open this month (September). You can have your clothes altered on the first floor too, and if you expect your item to be ready in an hour so should, you can kill time and grab a drink at the wine bar located on the same floor. The wide space in the middle will eventually be used to make space for a lounge.
And that's just the first floor.
Going up to the second floor, shoppers will find selections for women—from clothing, accessories, footwear, et cetera. There's a dedicated space for beauty picks with brands such as Laneige, Innisfree, Augustinus Bader, and Artdeco. Looking for fragrances? There's Prada, Ralph Lauren, Coach, Calvin Klein, and Lacoste, among others. Why go anywhere else?
Local brands take the spotlight on the second floor. There's Zarah Juan and its selection of unique, proudly Filipino statement bags that will definitely catch your eye. You can also take your pick among other names such as Lokal Bayong, Viajecito, Pinas Sadya, and more.
If you're looking for gadgets, you'd be glad to know that Digital Walker is here, too, with its sleek tech offerings from brands such as Apple, Momax, and more.
Say you're already on the second floor and well into your retail therapy—take your self-care up a notch by getting your nails done, eyelashes extended, and more at the Lay Bare Plus on the same floor still within Spatio.
After, why not have a cup of joe from We The People Coffee & Tea Co.? Just like Bruno's, it's targeting to open this September, too.
Part of Spatio is a huge Toys "R" Us section which is, yes, also located on the second floor. You'll think you're going through a portal coming to this section. But instead of stepping into an alternate universe, it's a space filled with toys: LEGO sets, Marvel toys, Play-Dohs and more.
Finally, on the third floor is the home and children section. You got stuff for toddlers and babies in this area. You can even have the kids play in the Play Space, which is a mini-play area complete with slides. We spotted home and kitchen appliances from Tefal, Kitchen Aid, and Nespresso here, among others.
Finally, you can pay your bills as well as other government services, travel, telecom, utilities through their customer service center on the third floor.
Where is Spatio located?
Spatio is located on the second floor of the Opus Mall, Bridgetowne Destination Estate, Quezon City. The Opus Mall is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
