MMDA to Ask Malls to Close During Community Quarantine
Supermarkets, pharmacies, and banks will remain open.
(SPOT.ph) Malls have decided to adjust their operating hours due to COVID-19, but it looks like there is a possibility that shopping centers will be closed throughout the duration of the community quarantine which is from March 15 to April 14.
MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said in a press conference today, March 14, that the Metro Manila Council "passed a reso having a curfew from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m." He continued, "We also requested for the malls to be closed. Ang bukas lang ay supermarkets and other essentials like pharmacies and banks."
While Metro Manila malls have yet to announce their temporary closure, it is important to remember to stay calm—don't panic, only buy what you need, and always, always wash your hands properly with soap.
