And even with all the options available locally, there are still some brands from abroad we're sure you hope to get to try. There are just times when you can't seem to find "The One." Skincare-wise, folks. Well, in case you haven't found your skin's soulmate, popular brand Drunk Elephant is coming to the Philippines—strong hope the one you're looking for might just be in their line of skincare products. Keep watch for their arrival in October.

The skincare brand is slated to land on our shores in October. You can soon cop their goodies at the LOOK at Me shop in SM Aura Premier, Taguig City, or you can add to cart online via LOOK PH's e-commerce site. Good news for folks outside of the Metro, or just those who don't want to go out. We feel you.
So what's so special about Drunk Elephant? The brand was founded in the U.S. in 2013 by Tiffany Masterson. Starting out with just six products, Masterson's brand soon became one of the fastest-growing in the beauty industry—it was acquired by Shiseido in 2019. Behind their clean, brightly hued packaging are skincare products made with a clean ethos, all based on Masterson's initial goals.
"I identified six ingredients that I believed were at the root of my issues—today I call them the Suspicious 6™. Once I eliminated all of them from my routine, it was amazing: My skin returned to a clear, healthy, balanced state but I couldn't find products without at least one of the Suspicious 6™ in them—so I decided to make them myself," the founder is quoted as saying on their site.
The brand is known to formulate their products without essential oils, drying alcohols, silicones, chemical sunscreens, fragrances/dyes, and SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate), all of which prevent the skin to return to its healthiest and most balanced state. What is found in their line of products, though, is virgin marula oil, an ingredient high in fatty acids and antioxidants—also the reason for their name. There is a myth popular in Africa that elephants tend to get drunk from snacking on the fruit of the marula tree, same family as the mango, a story that's long been debunked. Still, there's no denying the strength of marula oil itself, something you can soon test out yourself through the Drunk Elephant line.
