Here's everything that's going down on Dia del Libro 2023:
The tradition of hand-copying Don Quixote de la Mancha continues

Dia del Libro is holding Escribo el Quijote again this year. Volunteers are given two minutes each to hand copy the novel Don Quixote de la Mancha, an important literary piece that tackles the history of Spanish literature and the entire world.
Free Spanish class for beginners
There will be a free class on learning and speaking the Spanish language. This is on a first come first serve basis and is limited to 12 slots for people 16 years old and above. To register, fill out their form or you can also register on the day itself.
Casa Manila is open to the public for free

Casa Manila, also known as "Manila House," is a museum showcasing the lifestyle of a rich Filipino family during the late Spanish colonial period. This museum has a fee on any other regular day, but during Dia de Libro, it will be free to the public from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Meet our local authors and publishers
After lunch, Lorelai de Viana is holding a book signing for her book Walk Manila. Afterwards, there will be short talks too, namely "Let's Talk Fiction" with Vince Groyon and Glenn Diaz, and "After Don Quixote" by Jessica Zafra.
Publishers Vibal and Kahel Press will also make an appearance for book launches and book signings. The authors of published books under Vibal's Chickiting Books will be there for a book signing, while Kahel Press is presenting "A World of Stories: Translating Children's Books."
A day of poem recitals and submissions
For the entire duration of the event, there will be two activities involving poetry. The II Recital de Poesia Hispanofilipina is where people can recite love poems, such as e-legía by Marlon James Sales and CONFESIÓN by Adelina Gurrea. You can sign up to be part of the recital.
The other activity is "Palabras de amor / Love Words." For those who can speak more romantically in Spanish, you can submit your masterpieces.
Welcome to book heaven
During Día del Libro, there will be a shop for books published by Manila's bookstores and publishers. They will offer these in bulk and at discounted prices, so best to be prepared—financially, at least.
