This U.S. Airline Now Has Direct Flights From Manila to San Francisco

(SPOT.ph) Heads up, travel bugs! If you're going to the U.S. anytime soon, here's a new airline option that could save you a buck or two. Time to flaunt those U.S. visas and start planning your trips because American airline United announced their new flight routes to the Pacific, and surprise—Manila finally got a direct flight to scenic San Francisco.

Here's what we know about this new United Airlines flight from Manila to San Francisco:
Starting October 29, United Airlines becomes the first American airline to provide daily direct flights from Manila to the continental U.S. The 12-hour flight will be aboard a Boeing 777-300ER, starting at about U.S. $880 or roughly P48,000 for a round-trip economy seat.
San Francisco was chosen to house this new route as the California city is the airlines' hub to Asia. This is welcome news to Filipinos hoping to visit U.S. via United as they no longer need to stop over at Guam or Palau.
In a statement to reporters, Patrick Quayle, United’s senior vice president of global network planning and alliances, reaffirmed the airlines' decision to expand to the Pacific: "In general, the Pacific is as strong if not stronger than the Atlantic is today.” This comes after United not only opened flights to Manila but also resumed daily direct flights to Tokyo (Narita International Airport) and increased the frequency of their Taipei flights.
What to see in San Francisco, California:
San Francisco is the home of the massive engineering marvel, the Golden Gate Bridge, arguably the city's most famous landmark. Aside from that, tourists to the area can also tour the infamous Alcatraz Island, once a maximum security federal prison in the U.S.
