(SPOT.ph) Davao City in Mindanao is one of the Philippines’ urban centers. It is a gateway to a world of adventures, from the Philippines' highest peak, Mt. Apo; to enchanting Samal Island and its white-sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant marine life. A trip to Davao then always promises exciting and meaningful experiences. What to know about the rooms at dusitD2 Davao Hotel and Dusit Thani Residence:  

Either of the two properties is an ideal place to book when in the city, whether you’re a business or leisure traveler, but dusitD2 is ideal for those staying only a few days, while the Residence is perfect for those staying for a couple of weeks or longer. Both hotels have rooms that are equipped with all the modern comforts travelers look for in an accommodation—squeaky-clean bedroom and bathroom, TV set, Bluetooth speaker, coffee and tea set, iron, work station, among others—that ensure guests will have a comfortable, even a productive, stay. 

dusitD2 has six room types. The most affordable is the 40-square-meter D’Luxe rooms that feature city views, a workstation, and a king bed with a sofa bed or two double beds. The room accommodates two adults and two children under the age of 11. D’Luxe Pool View rooms have the same features as the aforementioned room type, the only difference is the pool instead of a city view.

The more spacious D’Suite has 77 square meters of stylish space including a king-sized bed and more spacious living and dining rooms The room also features a separate powder room and ensuite upscale bathroom with a separate bathtub, double sink, and shower. This room can accommodate a maximum of two adults and two children under the age of 11.

Club D’Luxe rooms offer 40 square meters of fully equipped space, with a king bed and sofa bed or two double beds, and ensuite upscale bathroom, plus access to all Dusit Club Privileges. The room sleeps two adults and two children under the age of 11. 

Club D’Suite has 77 square meters of space including a king-sized bed, a spacious upscale bathroom with double sink, bathtub and shower, living and dining areas, and a separate powder room.  Included in the room is full access to Dusit Club benefits. Room is for up to two adults and two children under the age of 11.

The largest and most expensive of the rooms is the Presidential Suite, which covers 122 sqm. This luxurious suite offers two bedrooms featuring king and twin beds and two bathrooms, spacious dining and living areas, a full kitchen, and a separate powder room. This spacious suite accommodates up to four adults and two children under the age of 11, all of whom enjoy full Dusit Club privileges. There is also the option to avail of the Club D’Suite on the same floor to enjoy the privacy of having the entire floor to yourself.

Dusit Thani Residence Davao, on the other hand, has four room types. Its signature room, the Deluxe Room, covers 36 square meters and can accommodate two adults and two children under the age of 11. The One-Bedroom Suite, meanwhile, has a total area of 70 square meters, while the One-Bedroom Corner Suite has a larger 96 square meters of space.

Dusit Thani Residence Davao’s most upscale accommodation is the Three-Bedroom Chairman’s Suite, a 131-square-meter space of comfort and luxury that’s ideal for families planning an extended Davao stay. The elegant suite features three bedrooms, workstations, and a washing machine with a dryer. The room sleeps up to six adults and two children under the age of 11.

Those booked at the Residence will enjoy additional room features including a dining room, kitchen with a built-in oven, induction stove, range hood, dishwasher, a bath with a free-standing tub, a wardrobe closet with a full-length mirror, and a flat-screen IPTV.

Views from the Residences’ private balconies are also something to look forward to, with views of Davao Gulf and Mt. Apo.

What to Do and Where to Eat

Guests of both properties are given access to a full range of health and wellness services, a fully-equipped gym and spa, and a 24-hour concierge.

Dining options include the in-house all-day restaurant Madayaw Café, Dusit Gourmet, Benjarong Thai specialty restaurant, and the hip and trendy Siam Lounge, Davao’s newest “it” place.

The properties are strategically located, making them accessible to and from major business establishments. 

And of course, there is just a wealth of experiences when in Davao. Mt. Apo is just at the doorstep of the city. With an elevation of 9,692 feet above sea level, the country’s highest peak is not only a popular trekking destination, but also a protected national park and an area considered sacred by indigenous communities.

Davao City is also the location of the Philippine Eagle Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of this majestic bird and other wildlife species endemic to the region. The forest-like center is home to 36 Philippine Eagles, 18 of which are captive-bred.
