(SPOT.ph) The grand launch of Ayala Avenue’s car-free Sundays has been postponed to September 10. Fingers crossed that it pushes through this Sunday, considering the number of free activities we can participate in.

ICYMI: The whole stretch of Ayala Avenue will be closed to cars on September 10, 17, and 24 from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. to make way for pedestrian-friendly spaces. If the trial run is successful, Make It Makati said it will “explore making this a full time initiative.”

Among the activities for the grand launch include a free Fitness Run and Yoga Class on September 10. Here's what you need to know to about the festivities.

Fitness Run

Makati City is hosting a 5k Fitness Run from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. with live music by the Hernandez Brothers. There will be a five-minute warm-up session by Adidas Running Club. Everyone is free to join, but participants below 18 years old must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

Make sure to sign this online waiver before showing up at the Fitness Run.

The run will begin and end in front of Tower One. Route will include Paseo de Roxas, Dela Rosa Street, Courtyard Drive, Makati Avenue, and of course, Ayala Avenue.

Bike and Skate

A ceremonial bike ride will be held when the Fitness Run ends, according to Ayala Land. The National Bicycle Organization will also be around to provide bike and skate rentals from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.

You can also rent a bike by Moovr, which will only cost P25 for every 15 minutes of biking time. The whole service is app-enabled, which makes it easy to locate and return bike rentals at the start and end of your journey. You must download the Moovr app since payment for this sharing service is contactless.

Food Merchants

Looking to unwind after a sweat sesh? Breakfast will be available from various food merchants on Ayala Avenue as well.
