This Museum in Hong Kong Lets You Make Your Own Cup Noodles

(SPOT.ph) Noodle lovers, you've probably heard of the Cup Noodle Museum in Japan. You know, that place that allows you to make your cup of noods? But it's not always easy to hed to the Land of the Rising Sun—visa requirements and all. As an alternative, you can head to Tsim Sha Tsui in visa-free Hong Kong, where they opened their own Cup Noodle Museum in March 2021.

Make your own noodles at Cup Noodles Museum Hong Kong:

Relied on one too many Nissin cup noodles during college? Well, you can learn all there is to know about your favorite variant and more in this space. The museum opened in 2021 and features an exhibition area showcasing the history of the Japanese brand and its founder, Momofuku Ando. 

It also has three experiences that you can try for a minimal fee. My CUPNOODLES Factory is a 30-minute session where guests can design their noodle cup, choose one of four soup bases, and select up to four toppings to create their own unique cup of noodles combination. A session will cost HKD 60 (roughly P437) per person.

Fans of restaurant-style instant ramen can try making their own version at the Demae Iccho Factory. The session takes roughly 90 minutes and requires additional steps like kneading the dough by hand, cutting, steaming, and eventually frying the noodles. You also can customize the packaging it will come in. The experience costs HKD 120 (roughly P873) per person.

You can also make your granola at the My Granola Factory, which shares the same steps as that of the cup noodle experience. The session lasts 30 minutes and costs HKD 60 (roughly P437) per person.

Of course, no visit to a museum or exhibit is complete without a stop at the gift shop. The Museum Shop offers traditional souvenirs like shirts and tote bags, but what sets this gift shop apart from others is that there are tons and tons of noodle varieties up for sale, as well as other Nissin product lines. Oh, and if you happen to be in Hong Kong on a Friday, you might want to plan your trip as the shop has all Nissin products at a discount that you don't want to miss.

Cup Noodle Museum Hong Kong is at 2nd Floor, Shop 26-35, 33 Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. It is open every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:15 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. For tickets and experience reservations, check out the Cup Noodle Museum Hong Kong website.
