This Luxury Airline Is Flying from Manila to San Francisco This December

(SPOT.ph) Following the success of United Airlines' maiden direct flight from San Francisco to Manila and vice-versa, we're getting more options to fly to the continental U.S. from our neck of the woods. Whether you're a balikbayan longing for a Jollibee fix or a millennial on a mission to Insta-story the Golden Gate Bridge, STARLUX Airlines is your newest ticket to San Francisco. The Taiwan-based luxury airline is launching flights from the Philippines to San Francisco starting this December.

What to know about the new STARLUX Airlines flights to San Francisco:

Starting December 16, STARLUX Airlines will fly from Manila to San Francisco via Taipei. Base fares for this journey start at U.S.$ 312 (roughly P17,443) one-way. As STARLUX Airlines is a full-service carrier, all bookings come with baggage allowance (two pieces), meals, and other in-flight amenities. 

But hold up, STARLUX flights to San Francisco aren't just available in Manila. Flights to SFO are also available from the Mactan-Cebu International Airport and Clark International Airport starting December 19. This means we're getting flights to the continental U.S. three times a week and from three different airports.

Those flying these routes will be onboard STARLUX Airlines' swanky Airbus A321-Neo for the Philippines to Taiwan Leg and an Airbus A350 aircraft for Taiwan to the US.

As you may have noticed, the flights have a layover in Taiwan. This is because STARLUX Airlines is a national flag carrier for the island nation and has its main hub there. Don't worry, though. Layovers via this route range from two to nine hours, with special half-day tours around Taipei for those staying longer. And between us, what's an extra hour or two in a swanky airport like Taipei Taoyuan International Airport, right? 

STARLUX also flies to Los Angeles, Taipei, Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Okinawa, Sapporo, Sendai, Macau, Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh, Da Nang, and Hanoi.
