Batik Air will soon charter daily flights from Manila to Kuala Lumpur:

Malaysian budget airline Batik Air will have daily flights from Manila to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's capital, starting the first of December. The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) shares that the daily roundtrip flights, with the carried code 'OD,' both depart and arrive at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3. The proposed schedule is as follows:

  • Manila to Kuala Lumpur, Flight OD 511: 3:50 a.m.
  • Kuala Lumpur to Manila, Flight OD 510: 2:50 a.m.

We know, we know. The evident downside is that both flights are scheduled waaay too early in the day, but that also means these flights are cheaper than those schedule during regular hours.

Batik Air and Greater Bay Airlines are the newest additions to NAIA's list of air carriers:

The news of Batik Air's upcoming Kuala Lumpur daily flights was announced alongside the news of start-up budget carrier Greater Bay Airlines arrival, too, which will operate flights between Manila and Hong Kong five days a week. The entrance of these two airlines brings NAIA's total number of hosted air carriers to 48, 42 of which are international carriers serving 57 international destinations.
