LOOK: Tokyo DisneySea's Fantasy Springs Is Now Open

(SPOT.ph) Finally, after months of waiting, Tokyo DisneySea's Fantasy Springs is now open.

Following a grand opening ceremony on June 6, Tokyo DisneySea's eighth port of call featuring rides and attractions based on Peter Pan, Frozen, and Tangled is finally open to the public. Here's your first look at the brand-new area and what you need to know before heading to the Japan-exclusive theme park.

Here's your first look at Tokyo DisneySea's Fantasy Springs:

Located between the Arabian Coast section and the Lost River Delta, Fantasy Springs is a magical spring-themed zone leading to a world of Disney fantasy. It is the largest Disney park expansion worldwide and is home to three areas, namely, the Frozen Kingdom inspired by the animated film Frozen, Rapunzel's Forest from Tangled, and Peter Pan's Neverland. 

Frozen Kingdom

The Frozen Kingdom transports you to Arendelle after the first Frozen movie. Here, you'll get to see key sights from Elsa and Anna's hometown, including spots like the town square, Elsa's frozen castle, and many more. 

The main attraction in this part of Fantasy Springs is the ride "Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey." Here, you’ll board a boat voyaging through the scenes from Frozen and the tale of two sisters discovering true love. The story begins with Grand Pabbie, the leader of the trolls, retelling the story of Frozen. Soon, you’ll be whisked away on a journey through Anna and Elsa’s memories, accompanied by songs from the film, including “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” “For the First Time in Forever,” “Love Is an Open Door,” and “Let It Go.” 

Aside from this ride, there will also be new merchandise and dining spots around the Frozen Kingdom. Don't miss out on the different Scandinavian-inspired food like a fluffy, cardamom bread filled with Scandinavian-style spiced meat and lingonberry jam, exclusive to this area.

Rapunzel's Forest

For the first time ever at a Disney park, the story of Rapunzel will come to life. Rapunzel's Forest transports you to where Rapunzel grew up and where her love story with Flynn, a.k.a. Eugene, blooms.

At the center of Rapunzel's Forest is "Rapunzel's Lantern Festival." If you've ever fantasized about having that romantic boat and lantern scene in Tangled for yourself, then this is the ride for you. Here, you'll go through the movie's different locations, following Flynn and Rapunzel's adventures. You'll watch their love blossom and climax during the Lantern Festival, and maybe you'll get your own moment there yourself. 

Don't forget to grab a bite of the “Duckling’s Dream Cheeseburger” or the “Sweet Ever After Dessert” served in Rapunzel's frying pan at the Snuggly Duckling restaurant.

Peter Pan's Neverland

Be one of the Lost Kids and go on an epic adventure in Peter Pan’s Never Land, from Captain Hook’s pirate ship to Pixie Hollow. This themed area will have two major attractions: Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure and Fairy Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies.

In Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure, you'll rescue John from Captain Hook and his band of pirates. You'll board a boat sprinkled with fairy dust by Tinker Bell and soar into the sky. This ride is most like a 3D roller coaster experience. 

Meanwhile, Fairy Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies is mostly for kids and those who appreciate the beauty of the Disney imagineering process. Here, you will explore the fairy valley as if you've been shrunk down to the size of a fairy.  

There's also going to be a new restaurant and food cart in the area selling snacks like the Lost Kids’ Snack Box with chicken tenders, seaweed fritters, banana chips, and shrimp chips, as well as a “Pixie Dust Soda (Kiwi)” with a star that dissolves into a silver sparkling effect — just like pixie dust!

Fantasy Springs Hotel

Aside from these themed areas, Tokyo DisneySea also opened a brand-new hotel called the Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel. This park-integrated hotel is located right next to Fantasy Springs. It has Disney princess-themed rooms, three restaurants, and an exclusive special entrance into Fantasy Springs. 

Guests staying at the Fantasy Springs Hotel are eligible to purchase a 1-Day Passport: Fantasy Springs Magic, which grants bearers access to Fantasy Springs sans a designated time and with reduced waiting time. They'll also be eligible for Happy Entry which means hotel guests can enter the park 15 minutes ahead of everybody else. If you've ever been to Tokyo DisneySea, you know 15 minutes is a lot of time and a major advantage. 

How to enter Tokyo DisneySea's Fantasy Springs

Obviously you need to have a valid park ticket for Tokyo DisneySea. Note that tickets for Tokyo DisneySea and Tokyo Disneyland are sold separately. Make sure you have the right ticket for the park before you start planning your adventure to Fantasy Springs. You can buy these tickets on the official Tokyo Disney Resort website or through third-party apps like Klook.

Once you've entered the park, you must then secure a pass for Fantasy Springs via the Tokyo Disney Resort App. You must obtain either a Standby Pass or a Disney Premier Access Pass for Fantasy Springs. 

If you want fast-tracked access to the rides and guaranteed timed entry to Fantasy Springs, you might consider purchasing a Premier Access pass. Note that a Premier Access pass does not guarantee zero wait times, but for peak days and for crowd-favorite rides, it can come in handy as it tends to have shorter wait times than the standard park ticket. 

Alternatively, if your budget is a little tight, you can still visit Fantasy Springs and all its attractions for free by getting a Standby Pass instead. The Standby Pass just gives Tokyo DisneySea the ability to control the flow of visitors to an area.

Note that you can only experience the attractions for which you have obtained a Standby Pass or Disney Premier Access. You must get an individual pass for each of the following Fantasy Springs attractions: Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey, Rapunzel's Lantern Festival, Peter Pan's Never Land Adventure, and Fairy Tinker Bell's Busy Buggies.

We recommend getting your Standby or Disney Premier Access pass as soon as you enter the park. Standby and Disney Premier Access passes are only available in limited quantities. Based on our experience, Tokyo DisneySea often suspends the sale or runs out of Disney Premier Access passes after a certain time during peak days. Moreover, entry using Standby passes may also be suspended should there be an overwhelming number of guests at a time.
