Hong Kong Disneyland Is Building a New Pixar-Themed Zone

(SPOT.ph) Hong Kong Disneyland is celebrating its 20th year, and while the park is expected to have a slew of limited-time parades, merchandise, and what-nots, recent reports have also suggested a major new expansion that's set to attract even more visitors into the theme park. 

Heads up, Disney kids! Hong Kong Disneyland is getting a new Pixar-themed Experience. If the thought of stepping into a Pixar-filled world, snagging exclusive merch, and maybe even riding a brand-new attraction inspired by your favorite animated films gets you hyped, consider this your sign to start saving up. Here's what we know so far about Hong Kong Disneyland's new Pixar-themed area:

We must admit that not much is known about the upcoming area. The new Pixar-themed space was revealed to the public only through Hong Kong Disneyland's Managing Director, Michael Moriarty's Instagram post. 

"We’re bringing an all-new, exclusive Pixar entertainment experience to @hkdisneyland," says Moriarty's post. According to him, this Pixar experience is set to be the only one of its kind across Disney parks worldwide. 

This caption is posted alongside a map of the park marked with the prospective position of the new Hong Kong Disneyland-exclusive space. Based on this, the new attraction will likely be located at the park's north end, between the current Toy Story area and the World of Frozen.

What could be coming in the new Pixar-themed area in Hong Kong Disneyland?

While official announcements are still pending, we're excited to explore the potential of this upcoming expansion. For now, we're sure whatever is in-store will bring all our favorite Pixar characters to life. We're keeping our fingers crossed that this area would feature characters from hit films like Inside Out and Monsters, Inc., alongside less popular Pixar favorites like A Bug's Life, Elemental, Soul, and so much more. 

Some reports hint that this new Pixar addition will be an indoor experience, but whether that means a simple character walkthrough or a full-fledged ride is still in the air. Here’s hoping it’s the latter—preferably something along the lines of the Monsters, Inc. suspended rollercoaster recently announced for Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Monstropolis. Fingers crossed!

The new Pixar Entertainment Experience joins the previously announced Marvel-themed expansion and ride set to open at Hong Kong Disneyland sometime in the future. No completion dates have been announced for the new spots, but we hope they're completed ASAP as we're already itching for our next Hong Kong Disneyland adventure.
