PAGSS Lounge at NAIA 3 No Longer Accepts Credit Card Perks for Entry

(SPOT.ph) These days, heading to the nearest airport lounge before your flight has become the norm for many. After all, who could say no to the allure of comfy chairs and free-flowing food and drinks? And all you need to do is present your credit card! But recently, it seems as though something is amiss, specifically at the PAGSS Premium Lounge in Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.

There's a lot of chatter on social media. Some say the PAGSS Premium Lounge is now closed while others report that credit cards can no longer get you in. Well, we asked and we're sorry to break it to you; it's (mostly) true. You can no longer use any credit card for free access to the PAGSS Premium Lounge in NAIA Terminal 3. 

But before this news sends you into full panic mode, here's the lowdown on what's changed and what it means for your pre-flight ritual.

Check out the new policies for the PAGSS Premium Lounge in NAIA Terminal 3:

First things first, the PAGSS Premium Lounge on the fourth floor of NAIA Terminal 3 is still there—it just moved a few steps away, just to the left of where it used to be.

Although a tad smaller, this new location still boasts the same luxe and comfy feel of the old lounge. It still has a buffet, a bar, lots of seating, clean toilets— an ideal environment for starting your trip on the right foot. 

We spoke to the PAGSS staff on site and they confirmed that the lounge moved to its new spot in early May. Since the space is smaller, PAGSS has decided to limit the guests who can access the lounge to business class passengers of their partner airlines such as EVA Air, ANA, Japan Airlines, Etihad Airways, Asiana Airlines, Emirates, and many more.

A post outside the lounge informs prospective guests of the new policy. It reads: "We regret to inform you that lounge access via lifestyle reward perks and credit card programs is not available. "  

But before you cancel that credit card with the special PAGSS Lounge perk, you should know that, according to PAGSS staff, the change applies only to the PAGSS Premium Lounge in NAIA Terminal 3. Depending on your credit card, you may still have access to other PAGSS lounges in different airports, like the NAIA Terminal 1, the Davao International Airport or Puerto Princesa International Airport—you should give them a call first to check. But if you're really bent on using the PAGSS Lounge at NAIA Terminal 3 and aren't flying business class, you can pay P3,000 or USD50 for three hours of use of the lounge and all its amenities. Sucks, right? Well, some good things just refuse to last.
