(SPOT.ph) When one thinks of Iloilo in Western Visayas, what easily comes to mind are the famous islands of Sicogon and Gigantes. But there's a lot of other beach destinations in the province that boast white sand and crystal-clear waters, particularly in the municipality of Concepcion. It's located about two hours away from Iloilo City, and best known for 17 tropical islands minus the crowd.
Most of the islands have rustic resorts or camping grounds, such as the Badiango Island Resort on Danao-Danao Island, where guests can spend the night after a whole day of island-hopping. Entrance is only at P30, and cabanas are available for rent at P2,500 for five to eight guests.

You can also rough it out at Bago Sipol Islet, which has cottages available for P1,500 for five to eight people; Bolobadiangan Sandbar Beach Resort, which offers cottages with bathroom for P1,500 for two to three guests; or Sangutan Rock Inn, which has air-conditioned rooms for P3,000.
Concepcion officially reopened for leisure travel in June. Required documents include medical certificate, negative COVID-19 test result, valid ID, and a health declaration card to be filled out at the Concepcion Tourism Office. Minimum health precautions include wearing of face mask and face shield and observing physical distance.
How to get there: Ride a CERES bus bound for Concepcion from the CERES Nortbound Terminal in Iloilo City. Alternatively, you can drive for about two hours via the National Highway.
