Conquer Your Fear of Heights at This Cliffside Beach Resort
Would you dare jump off a cliff?
(SPOT.ph) The province of Cebu has a lot of hotels and beach resorts where travelers of all kinds can spend their vacation. There are the luxurious Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa and Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort in Lapu-Lapu City, Bai Hotel—the biggest city hotel in the Visayas—in Mandaue City; and glamping resorts like Neverland Malapascua and Evo Nature Camp. In Catmon in northern Cebu, a resort located along the highway not only offers a majestic view of the ocean but also a place where thrill-seekers can jump off a cliff safely: Majestique View Resort.
Entrance to the resort is only at P35, and you can already test your skills and tricks on the diving boards jutting out into the sea. There's also a tidal pool near the diving area if you just want to take a dip. You can also sit on one of the swings hanging from the rock formation.
Cottages for use the entire day cost P500 to P1,000 for six persons while tables are available for rent at P350 for four people. You can book the videoke cottage for P2,500 for 10 to 15 people. There's no corkage fee so you're free to bring in some food and drinks.
Cebu reopened its borders for leisure travel on November 20. If you're traveling to Cebu City, you need to bring your RT-PCR negative test results taken three days prior to travel date; travel authority issued by Joint Task Force COVID Shield, which can be secured from any police station; travel itinerary; confirmed booking of accommodation; and roundtrip ticket. You can stay at any Department of Tourism-accredited hotel and resort.
Majestique View Beach Resort is in Barangay Binongkalan, Catmon, Cebu. Entrance fee is at P35. For more information, follow Majestique View Beach Resort on Facebook.
How to get there: From the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the outdoor parking lot of SM City Cebu, hop on a bus bound for Catmon. One-way fare is less than P100. The ride takes about an hour and a half.
