(SPOT.ph) Bohol in Central Visayas is most known for Chocolate Hills, dubbed so because of the fact that the more than 1,000 mounds change in color from green to brown during the dry season. We've heard about it in Sibika class and seen photos in postcards. But this island province has so much more to offer for adventure-seeking travelers.

Most recently, the local tourism office is promoting a long list of exciting things to do aside from gazing and taking photos of Chocolate Hills. You can try kayaking around Virgin Island (a.k.a. Lungtud Island), standup paddle boarding (or the usual river cruise with lunch) in Loboc River, hiking at the Rajah Sikatuna Protected Landscape in Bilar, and mountain biking in Loboc. You can also hop on an ATV and go around Chocolate Hills for a thrilling perspective of the renowned geologic formation.
