( Christmas 2022 is a season of comebacks. Mall of Asia, for example, has started its popular fireworks display; Ayala Triangle Gardens has welcomed back the crowd for the Festival of Lights; and Araneta City even brought back to life its classic Christmas on Display. At The Peninsula Manila, the Christmas spirit is more alive than ever as the Makati hotel brings back an enduring holiday tradition after a two-year hiatus: Christmas Concert at The Pen, which is now in its 37th season. It's happening on December 4, 5 p.m., at The Lobby.

At the helm of this performance is National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab who is teaming up with the Manila Symphony Orchestra for a dose of nostalgia. They were the first orchestra to play at the annual holiday concert when it had its debut in 1983. The lineup also includes Jade Rubis Riccio, The Voice Philippines alum Poppert Bernadas, French children's choir Les Petits Chanteurs a la Croix de Bois, and Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo.

"There’s so much hope. The whole program is a celebration of music and our love for it. We are also very excited and honored to have Maestro Ryan Cayabyab at the helm along with a raft of very talented artists," said Masahisa Oba, The Peninsula Manila General Manager, in a statement.

True enough, the opening number of Christmas Concert at the Pen is the well-loved song "It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year."

Tickets start at P3,000 consumable fee per person at The Upper Lobby. The Lobby patrons can get a table for four (with a deluxe set festive merienda) for P20,000, and a table for 10 (with a deluxe set festive merienda and two bottles of champagne) for P50,000.
