(SPOT.ph) The ongoing quarantine have kept most of us stuck at home—unable to visit our families or even go to work. But some artists are finding a silver lining in this situation with some experimenting with new materials they're keeping in their cupboards, from a bottle of ketchup to unused markers. A Grade 11 student from St. Gregory Academy in Indang, Cavite, on the other hand, found time to develop his skills in digital art by reimagining famous sights in his hometown as anime-style illustrations.

"Na-inspire po ako sa isang anime movie na Your Name ni Mr. Makoto Shinkai. Then, tinry ko pong gawan ng sariling version 'yong hometown ko," 16-year-old Audi Quatro Fidel tells SPOT.ph in an online exchange.

The two teenagers later switches bodies in this coming-of-age love story mixed with Japanese folklore. It dethroned Studio Ghibli classic Spirited Away as the highest grossing anime film, and dropped on Netflix in July.

Fidel explained that he only used his mobile phone for editing, specifically with the use of three mobile applications: Adobe Photoshop Mix, Adobe Lightroom, and PicsArt Photo Editor. The photographs that he used as basis were taken in March, before the quarantine was implemented.
