No Need to Drive Out to Silang to Try Mrs. Saldo's This December

(SPOT.ph) Silang might be some 40ish kilometers away from the Metro (depending on your exact starting point), but that hasn't stopped food fans from driving out to Mrs. Saldo's come weekends. Since opening in 2021, private-dining spot Mrs. Saldo's has gained its share of fans (even from this side of town!), thanks in no small part to Gaggan-trained Chef Rhea Rizzo's sublime lineup of dishes from different cuisines around the world. Great news: for the month of December, you won't have to travel all the way out to Cavite to feast away on her signatures. Mrs. Saldo's is popping up in Metro Manila—specifically in Rockwell in Makati.

Here's where you can catch Mrs. Saldo's this December 2023:

Mrs. Saldo's shared the news in a post on their Instagram page. Yup, they'll be closing shop at their Silang outpost for the time being, to make way for a month-long pop-up from Tuesdays to Sundays between December 1 to 31. This will be held at Rockwell's Balmori Suites, which has hosted a couple other notable pop-ups and ventures in the past months—among them Toyo Eatery, Hapag, and Your Local (to this day of publishing).

Though Rizzo hasn't posted the exact menu, she shares that you can look forward to the "French-Californian fare punctuated with Asian flavors" that they've come to be known and love for. They'll also be introducing exclusive cocktails with Filipino and holiday-inspired elements, along with their special wine program (as anyone who's dined at their premises would know about!).

"I can’t help but feel sentimental when I reflect on our Mrs. Saldo’s journey," Rizzo writes in the Instagram post. "All I ever wanted was a restaurant when I was eight years old. After a crazy two year ride (so far) which has pushed me to reinvent, reiterate, and grow has been nothing but rewarding as a chef, a leader, and as a person."

Clearly this is just the start of things for the private-dining venture. "We see this as a wonderful opportunity to further explore and expand our horizons and discover how else we can serve to the fullest of our potential. It is equally, wonderfully nerve -wracking and exciting!" In the meantime, mark your calendars and make those plans while it's early!
