(SPOT.ph) As you know, British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran was in Manila for his recent +-=÷x concert. And not only did he get to wow fans as he crooned the likes of "Shivers" and "Tenerife Sea" at the SMDC Festival Grounds, he even squeezed in a karaoke performance while he was in town! For sure the guy worked up an appetite after all that singing so he made a trip to BGC's Steak & Frice and had a taste of quintessential Filipino dishes that include lechon and adobo.

There’s No Shame in Having Steak With Fries + Rice at Amado Forés’ New Restaurant
These are some of the things Ed Sheeran ate in Manila:
The "Thinking Out Loud" singer recently made a trip to the recently opened steakhouse in BGC owned by Amado Forés. "He had [our] Steak Fries and Rice, Pommes Souffle, and Cheese Gougères," Amado tells SPOT.ph, and the team made "special dips" using Sheeran's signature Tingly Ted’s hot sauce.
The Steak & Frice staff had the rare opportunity to meet and greet—and take photos with—Sheeran himself. Amado tells us about Mark, one of their servers, who took the chance to tell Sheeran how he was his "idol"; in response, Sheeran borrowed Mark's camera and took a selfie with him.
Sheeran also got a taste of distinctly Filipino specialties: adobo and chicken inasal from the Steak & Frice chefs, and lechon and laing from Margarita Forés—yup, no less than 2016 Asia's Best Female Chef and Amado's mom. "He said [laing in particular] tasted similar to one of his favorite things which is curry," says Amado.
Margarita posted about Sheeran's visit on her public Instagram as well. "So blessed to have met you and shared [Steak & Frice] and Filipino food with you, Ed Sheeran... a wonderful evening at Steak & Frice with you!," she captioned the post.
"So friendly and patient enough to take a pic with each and every person from our [Steak & Frice] team before leaving!," Amado writes in a post on his own Instagram. "Salamat for dining with us, Ed Sheeran, and hope you enjoyed our Filipino steakhouse hospitality (and special lechon)! We hope you come back to Manila soon!"
Sheeran's concert was held March 9. It marked his third visit to the Philippines following previous concerts in 2015 and 2018.
