Eats Out There: The Must-Try Beef Dishes for Your Inner Carnivore
As seen on the IG feeds of our favorite food people.
(SPOT.ph) We spend many of our free hours scrolling endlessly through our Instagram feeds—and when something catches our attention, we feel the need to spread the word. For this week's edition of Eats Out There, we round up beef dishes and varieites that highlight the versatility of the meat by showcasing it with different flavor profiles and in different forms.
You can count on these finds to satisfy that beef craving:
The Food Trip
The Food Trip takes the idea of comfort-eats to a whole new level with their meat-and-rice platters, which have are a complete meal on their own. The Roasted Bone Marrow, Braised Oxtail, Eggs, and Rice platter (P2,900) is the newest addition to their menu, which we spotted on food blogger Leslie Cheng (a.k.a. @shootfirsteatlater)'s feed. You'll want to get a little of everything in each bite for the most explosive experience.
Artisan Cellar Door
There's beef, and then there's Mayura Wagyu Beef—a special variety produced by Australian company Mayura station that's characterized by its topnotch marbling and intense beef flavor, and which food blogger Jin Perez (a.k.a. @jinlovestoeat) swears by. No need to fly out of the country to get your fix, either, because you can order the special meat from Artisan Cellar Door. The local seller carries different cuts like the Ribeye MS9+ (P1,000/100 grams), Striploin MS8-9 (P850/100 grams), Ground Beef (P400/500 grams), and more.
Beef tongue is one seriously underrated cut, but Panko Pussy (from the folks behind 12/10) takes advantage of its tenderness and distinct beefy flavor in their Gyutan Philly, which we spotted on food and props stylist Chichi Tullao's (@happytummytravels) feed. This sandwich isn't just a looker: It's got slow-cooked beef tongue with onions, green peppers, provolone, and wasabi on toasted milk bread for a one-of-a-kind combo of flavors that shuffles between meaty, cheesy, and zesty. You can order this sandwich through Panko Pussy's website.

Raging Bull Burgers
Nothing beats a hearty burger on a Friday night, and food writer Ching Dee (@foodchingeats) got us swooning when she posted about the Raging Bull Burgers she enjoyed on her feed. The restaurant delivers their signatures, like the Kickass (P255), Raging Wagyu (P360), and Kickin Chicken (P260) through GrabFood, Foodpanda, and Pickaroo.
For orders, find Raging Bull on GrabFood, Foodpanda, and Pickaroo.
Whether as a post-drinking meal or just in the middle of a dreary day, there's something about beef mami that always, always hits the spot. Food writer JJ Yulo (@nekkidchef) tempted us with the special version—dubbed the Angus Pares Mami (P145) by Angus Pares, which includes Angus Beef pares served with mami noodles and beef soup. Try it for yourself by ordering through Angus Pares' delivery website.
For orders, check out Angus Pares' website.
Beef rendang is one of those dishes that's as vibrant and exotic in flavor as it is somewhat familiar and comforting, especially when eating with steaming-hot rice. Ley's Kitchen makes an especially great-tasting version (P3,500/good for five) that's gotten the seal of approval of blogger and recipe developer Joey de Larrazabal-Blanco (a.k.a. @chichajo). They make excellent seafood dishes, too, and you can order these eats by sending them a message or giving them a call.
Looking to level up your steak nights? Go for a special cut of Wagyu beef from J-Gyu, which carries a short-but-sweet menu ranging from A3 (P5,995/striploin, P6,295/ribeye), A4 (P6,495/striploin, P6,795/ribeye), and A5 (P6,995/striploin, P7,295/ribeye) grades. Food writer Pamela Cortez (@meyarrr) posted a mouth-watering shot on her feed, and it hasn't left our minds ever since. Send J-Gyu a message on their social media accounts, through email, or by text or call to order.
The tapa of Sanso Museum's resident cafe ain't just any old tapa. Dubbed the Roast Beef Tapa with Garlic Confit (P370), it's got beef slices in soy sauce, olive oil, and slow-roasted garlic—which basically makes it the stuff of dreams. We've been swooning ever since we saw it on columnist Pepper Teehankee (@pepperteehankee)'s feed. You can order through Cafe Sanso's BeepIt website.
If you think you've had every beef dish out there and you're looking to try something new, be sure to add Hey Jaew's Krapow Beef (P320)—a dish of stir-fried minced beef, Thai basil, and chilies—to your list. We saw it on the feed of Bun Appetit owner Lawrence Cua (@eatboydotcom), and it immediately had our mouths watering. You can order by messaging Hey, Jaew on their social media accounts, by giving them a call, or by ordering through GrabFood or Foodpanda.
Your Local's Beef Rendang Buns
Your Local's Beef Rendang Buns are a bestseller for a reason: Each bite offers a party of different flavors and textures that come together into a cohesive whole. Because they're best consumed fresh, Your Local offers them as DIY Kits (P870/good for two servings), which we spotted on food blogger Mark Tan (@eatsplorations)'s feed. The kit is easy to assemble, too, we promise. You can order these kits by giving your local a call or sending them a message on their social media accounts.
