(SPOT.ph) January's coming hurtling in, and we all know what that means. A ton of new content is heading our way. Sure, you're not yet done with last year's backlog, but why not add to the list? Netflix's got sure picks worth adding. They're starting the year right with a bunch of A-lister movies, from Christian Bale to Jonah Hill, a That '70s Show revival, a Junji Ito adaptation, and a whole lot more. Happy 2023, folks.

You People (Movie)

Release date: January 27

Eddie Murphy, Jonah Hill, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and more. Yup, we're expecting a lot from this comedy about people from different cultures just trying to find common ground.

The Lying Life of Adults (Series)

Release date: January 4

Adults lie to children. It happens across the globe. Just take a look at this Italian-language series based on a book of the same name by New York Times bestselling author Elena Ferrante. Follow Giovanna (Giordana Marengo) as she makes it through adolescence in '90s Naples trying to make sense of herself and all the adults who've been lying to her.

The Pale Blue Eye (Movie)

Release date: January 6

Get ready for more of Christian Bale's epic roles. This time, he plays a veteran detective who has come to investigate some very mysterious, and deadly, happenings at a U.S. military academy. And who better to help him than a young Edgar Allan Poe, as played by Harry Melling (yes, Dudley Dursley).

The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House (Series)

Release date: January 12

Need to warm your heart? Remind yourself that there's good in the world with this series about a young girl who finds her calling in an unexpected path. This live adaptation of the OG manga is from acclaimed director Hirokazu Kore-eda. Probably best watched while chowing down on some heartwarming food, too.

Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre (Series)

Release date: January 19

Delve into the mind of horror manga master Junji Ito with this collection of what else but macabre tales. This adaptation brings together some of his most morbid stories; definitely not for the faint of heart.

That '90s Show (Series)

Release date: January 19

Fans of That '70s Show will know this one. The Formans are back, only this time, it's 1995. Eric and Donna's kid, Lea (Callie Haverda) is spending the summer at her grandparents place, which means that Kitty and Red's (Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith) basement will once again be full of kids doing god-knows-what (mostly just hanging out, mostly).

Kaleidoscope (Series)

A crew led by a master thief (Giancarlo Esposito) try to pull of elaborate heist worth U.S. $7 billion dollars—now before you say "What? Another heist series?" know that this one's a bit different. It's presented in a non-linear way with eight episodes, which means you can watch it in any sequence you please.

It's exactly as the title suggests. This game show of sorts takes things up a notch with a literal battle of the fittest. Watch as a bunch of athletic people compete for the honor of the title of "best body" all from the comfort of your couch. Hey, you might just be inspired to get fit yourself.

Lockwood & Co. (Series)

Release date: January 27

A bunch of kids solving mysteries and foiling the bad guys; it's an equation that's worked long before the Scooby-Doo gang hopped into their Mystery Machine. This British series sees two teenage boys and a psychic girl team up to hunt ghosts under their start-up, Lockwood & Co.

Devotion (Movie)

Release date: January 20

The strongest friendships are formed in the toughest of times. See: War. This epic tale follows two such folks who make one heck of a bond through the Korean war, a pioneering U.S. Navy aviator (Jonathan Majors) and his wingman (Glen Powell, yup, from the recent Top Gun).
