Surviving all of this month's downpours, surge in active cases, and literally getting cursed by Incantation definitely earns you a pass to pamper and treat yourself, without guilt or worrying about whether you deserve it or not. As usual, we think the best, remorse-free nights are those spent binge-watching Netflix until you blink and suddenly realize it's morning. August is looking to have a few nights like that, thanks to these titles so worth putting on your radar.

Put these 10 Netflix series and films on your watch-list for August 2022:
The Sandman (Series)
Release date: Friday, August 5
The long-awaited, live-action adaptation of Neil Gaiman's mind-bending, fantasy graphic novel The Sandman is finally coming to Netflix in just a couple of weeks, and it looks to have more "bloody 'ells" and "bollocks" drops than even Oscar Isaac in Moon Knight.
The 10-episode series looks to bring its mythological elements to life with a star-studded cast of television veterans including Gwendoline Christie, Boyd Holbrook, Charles Dance, David Thewlis, Jenna Coleman, Stephen Fry, Patton Oswalt, and, of course, Tom Sturridge as the Masters of Dreams himself.

Day Shift (Movie)
Release date: Friday, August 12
If you've ever thought to yourself while watching John Wick, "hmm, this would've been better if there were vampires in it," first of all, it might be time to go outside. Secondly, you're in luck because John Wick's own Chad Stahelski is bringing his vampire action comedy starring Jamie Foxx, Dave Franco, and Snoop Dogg to Netflix next month. We love a good splatter-fest with Foxx and the odd pairing that is Franco and Mr. Dogg is too good to ignore. It's also been a while since we've had a fun B-action film with vampires and body disfigurement, so we won't be passing this one up.
Tekken: Bloodline (Series)
Release date: Thursday, August 18
The most exciting Tekken crossover to happen since Kazuya Mishima met Kirby on the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate stage, Tekken: Bloodline is an original Netflix anime and the first crack at a streaming series based on the popular fighting games. The story throws in superpowers, Ogres, and a fighting tournament in this classic tale of a lone warrior seeking revenge. The series looks to be adapting a few major elements from 1997's Tekken 3, so with any luck, the series shows off its promise and comes back for a few more rounds.
Seoul Vibe (Movie)
Release date: Friday, August 26
Riding off the hype of last month's new Money Heist in Korea, Netflix is dropping Seoul Vibe, an action thriller where a group of young drivers and mechanics stage an undercover operation during the 1988 Olympics in Seoul in order to expose a large money-laundering scheme. Think Dom Toretto's (Vin Diesel) Family in Fast and Furious but with an ensemble cast from Korea that includes Yoo Ah-in from the international award-winning Burning and Park Ju-hyun from Netflix's own Extracurricular.
School Tales: The Series
Release date: Wednesday, August 10
Just in time for the return of face-to-face classes, the anthology series School Tales will deliver eight different stories of hauntings that take place on school grounds. With stories about ghosts, demons, and rotting corpses, the series will undoubtedly be a major throwback to the playground whispers we'd hear as children about "secret" and "cursed" areas of the school. For that alone, School Tales should be a fun horror series to dig into.
I Am a Killer: Season 3 (Series)
Release date: Tuesday, August 30
Keeping in line with the disturbing and just general "WTF" nature of Netflix titles, the third season release of I Am a Killer will be dropping at the end of the month, which means even more murderers for you to meet and try to analyze with the psych degree that you've awarded yourself after watching hours and hours of True Crime documentaries on the web. The docuseries I Am a Killer, which depicts interviews with imprisoned murderers on Death Row, at least gives you first-hand documentation of what goes on in the minds of these murderers as they commit the crime and their reflections on incarceration and the death penalty.
Carter (Movie)
Release date: Friday, August 5
This high-octane action thriller from South Korea looks to combine the action of Matt Damon's spy thriller Bourne series with the plot of the popular video game The Last of Us. In Carter, the protagonist wakes up without memories and with only one task: to rescue the child whose DNA holds the cure for a rapidly spreading global disease. It's an odd mishmash, to be sure, but so much so that we have to give props. At least it's not another spy film about an agent going rogue.
A Model Family (Series)
Release date: Friday, August 12
This 10-episode series from South Korea follows professor Dong-ha (Jung Woo) and how he breaks bad after getting himself involved in the world of stolen money and drugs due to being on the brink of bankruptcy and divorce. This crime series, which also stars Park Hee Soon of My Name and Yoon Jin Seo of Oldboy, looks to be a slow burn that builds up to explosive moments between Jung's mild-mannered character and Park's second-in-command crime boss. This is definitely our next crime series to get hooked on after Better Call Saul wraps up next month.
The Next 365 Days (Movie)
Release date: Friday, August 19
We've gotten intel from Netflix's Worth the Wait tab and it confirms the worst... somehow the sex life of Laura (Anna-Maria Sieklucka) and Massimo (Michele Morrone) has returned. Kidding, of course, as we're always down for some trashy romance and over-the-top sex scenes. It just comes as a bit of a surprise given the previous 365 Days film just came out a couple of months prior. Anyway, we'll definitely be, uh, grabbing by the neck at the chance to immediately consume this steamy series' trilogy capper.

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie
Release date: Friday, August 5
Finally, we have everybody's favorite sewer-dwelling, ninja family, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Side-stepping the fact that this franchise is on the cusp of turning 40 years old... it's clear that the TMNT have been a consistently reliable source of cartoon and juvenile entertainment for all ages over the past couple of decades, as they've gone through many different film and serial iterations that always have something fresh to offer their classic formula. The upcoming Netflix film looks no different, with its striking art style and Krang invasion storyline. The animation's upcoming release definitely calls for a night-in with a large pizza box.
