You Can Still Catch Screenings of Open and Panti Sisters Next Month
In case you missed the PPP screenings!
(SPOT.ph) Film festivals are always a great way to discover local films, but it's unfortunate that they usually run only for a short while. The Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino may have ended, but that doesn't mean you can't catch the entries anymore. Cinema Centenario is still showing two entries on September 30 to October 5: Open, which has been praised for the actors' strong performances, and The Panti Sisters, which is the highest-grossing entry for the 2019 edition of the festival. Regular tickets are priced at P220, but students can get tickets at the discounted price of P200 per screening. You can watch these two films at the following times:
Directed by Jun Lana of Die Beautiful, The Panti Sisters revolves around the lives of Gabriel, Daniel, and Samuel Panti (played by Paolo Ballesteros, Christian Bables, and Martin Del Rosario, respectively) are three gay brothers who are unapologetic about their identity. Their ailing father may die soon and he has one last request and ultimatum before he passes on: the first son who can give him a grandchild will get the P100 million inheritance.
Meanwhile, Open is about Rome (Arci Muñoz) and Ethan (JC Santos) have been in a relationship for 14 years. Although still together, their relationship is not what it used to be and in order to reignite the love and passion between them, Ethan proposes that they "open" it to other people, but still stay committed to one another. This film entry came in second in terms of gross.
Cinema Centenario is at 2/F 95 Maginhawa Street, Teachers Village East, Diliman, Quezon City. For more information, visit Cinema Centenario's Facebook page.
