The Trailer for Park Shin Hye's Upcoming Thriller Just Dropped and We're Spooked
The Call is looking to be really creepy.
(SPOT.ph) Remember landlines? Well, that old-school device serves as a link between two women 20 years apart in upcoming Korean thriller The Call. The adrenaline-packed feature lands on Netflix on November 27 at 4 p.m. Philippine time—and if zombie apocalypse hit #Alive had you feeling all kinds of things, then we suggest marking your calendars for the next suspenseful movie to come out of South Korea. Check out the stressful (in a good way) special trailer:
Packing a perfect balance between vague and intriguing, the trailer shows K-Drama star Park Shin Hye—in her first ever thriller role—and rising actor Jun Jong Seo in what is probably the most hair-raising phone conversation ever. The suspense film follows Seo Yeon (Shin Hye) as she returns to her family home in 2019. A mysterious phone call from a stranger named Young Sook (Jong Seo)—who happens to live in the same house, only in 1999—sets off a wild chain of events that might just lead to death. Whose exactly, only the butterfly effect that ensues through time and space will tell.
This role is the fiercest one Shin Hye has taken on so far in her career, she told the Korean Herald. While we've seen her play feisty characters like Choin In Ha in Pinocchio, The Call is taking her in another direction we can't wait to see. She herself reportedly got goosebumps from just reading the script!
This mystery movie follows the success of South Korean blockbuster #Alive, which promptly landed on the Philippines' top 10 when it started streaming on Netflix in September. Meanwhile, it's no secret that South Korea has been producing some top-notch thrillers for decades now—Parasite immediately comes to mind—so it looks like this film is definitely one to keep tabs on.
this strange new world.
