(SPOT.ph) As we delve deeper into this all-consuming digital world, the different kinds of content that keep us entertained on the daily become increasingly curated. For the movie buff and entertainment aficionado, it has become a genuine concern of how one can keep up with what is fresh and popular, as well as what's cutting edge, in the streaming landscape.

Long been on the "hidden gem" and "underrated" side of this online space, Amazon Prime Video in Southeast Asia looks to be readying up a slate of titles that'll deservedly put them at the forefront of the streaming conversation in Southeast Asia—with the price of the subscription being slashed for the Filipino audiences willing to join them over the next year of adventure as well.

Here's what's new with Amazon Prime Video Philippines:

Amazon Prime Video just announced that the price of a monthly subscription plan has been dropped to P149, from the previous P259. This promotional price is in effect until December 31, 2023.

The heavily discounted subscription fee comes in part of an initiative to boost more localized content for Southeast Asian viewers. The rundown being that Prime is dropping more Filipino, South Korean, and anime titles on its service, and obviously want it easier for audiences to catch them as they come out.

Local films included in their slate of the next couple of months are Jun Robles Luna's 2021 dark comedy Big Night, the recently released Jason Paul Laxamana rom-com How to Love Mr. Heartless on August 15th, and the surrealist disaster movie starring Daniel Padilla  Whether the Weather is Fine on October 10th.

On top of that, Prime is debuting its first Filipino original in Comedy Island: Philippines. A game show-type endeavor, the title will feature eight players consisting of comedians and celebrities, who will all participate in improvisational comedy challenges set on a mysterious island. The title will launch next year.

Other titles from Asia launching on the platform include the South Korean rom-com Nothing Serious and the documentary/variety show Toy Soldiers 2: Fake Men The Complete in August. Anime film Demon Slayer Mugen Train is also now streaming on Prime, with the new Jujutsu Kaisen 0 dropping on streaming on December 21.

All this on top of Prime's blockbusters, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which drops on September 2nd, and the Ron Howard dramatization of the Thai soccer team cave rescue Thirteen Lives on August 5th.

We'll be able to brag to our friends that we're watching more than just The Boys and Invincible on Prime, that's for sure.
