Angel Locsin Provides Sleeping Tents for Health Workers
Talk about a superhero in real life.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, actress Angel Locsin, together with her fiancé Neil Arce and wedding coordinator La Belle Fete, have set up air-conditioned sleeping tents for health workers in Taguig City.
On Friday, March 20, Locsin asked her followers and industry friends on Instagram for any spare beds and beddings that she could borrow. She wrote, "[We] understand that life is hard right now, so we'll refrain from asking you for financial donations. Instead, we would like to ask you for stuff that you already have.
"We, with the assistance and recommendation of the local government, are setting up sleeping tents within hospital premises for our health workers in the frontlines so they don't have to worry about where to stay [and] transportation."
Take a peek inside the sleeping quarters:
To practice strict social distancing, only five people are allowed to stay in each tent.
In December 2019, Locsin, who has actively been helping out during times of crisis, was hailed as one of Forbes Asia's Heroes of Philanthropy which honors individuals "committed to solving some of the most pressing issues facing the Asia-Pacific."
