(SPOT.ph) When you're scrolling through your feed, you've probably noticed a recurring theme: most of your friends and acquaintances are vacationing in Japan. It's mainly because of airline seat sales and the ongoing cherry blossom season but other reasons include visiting tourist attractions that tug at the heart of anime fans. Aside from Studio Ghibli theme park, there's also the 59-foot Gundam statue in Yokohama that was supposedly operating only until March 2023—but in happy development, it was announced that it's extended until March 2024.

What to Expect at Gundam Yokohama

The extension announcement was posted on the official Gundam Factory Yokohama website, where the facility of the moving Gundam statue is located. The extension was considered and approved by the concerned parties due to the influx of international tourists—specifically the Gundam fans, anime fans, and mecha fans—who are now able to enter Japan prior to the country's travel restrictions because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you want to see this moving lifesize Gundam statue with your own eyes, you have an extra year to arrange all that's required—from applying for a Japan visa, booking a roundtrip flight to Tokyo, and purchasing the tickets in advance. You can check the Gundam Factory Yokohama website for the ticket sale schedule.
