LOOK: Baguio's Newest Attraction Is a Free Water and Lights Show

(SPOT.ph) If you're looking for a quick escape from the heat and humidity of the Metro, a quick weekend trip to the City of Pines is always a welcome treat. But if you think you've seen everything Baguio City offers, you might want to think again. Over the weekend, Baguio just unveiled its newest tourist attraction, and it's a sight to behold. Check out The Reflection Pool and Fountain, the city's newest free tourist spot, begging for a place on your IG feed.

Check out Baguio City's Reflection Pool and Fountain show:

Located at Upper Wright Park right in front of The Mansion, The Reflection Pool and Fountain has finally been unveiled to the public after several months of renovation. This long pond stretch was home to many ornamental fish and has been a classic spot for photo ops and tours. It has since been revamped and cleaned to give it a stillness that allows reflection amidst the towering pine trees and cool Baguio City air. 

In fact, according to the Baguio City Public Information Office, The Reflection Pool is locally called Shanun Tan Bëlbël or Water and Pine Tree in the Ibaloi language. This embodies the serene dance between two essential elements of our environment and a reminder of the need to preserve and cherish the delicate balance between two indispensable pillars of our ecosystem.

While the pond may look ordinary and, well, let's face it, boring during the day, it comes alive at night. Aside from having a still water pond lining the pine tree-clad walkway along Upper Wright Park, The Reflection Pool transforms into a full-blown fountain and lights show from Friday to Sunday, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

As this is a relatively new spot, we recommend bringing extra patience and getting ready to stand for long periods when headed here on weekends. After all, we all just want a good time and a glimpse of the new tourist attractions in the City Pines.
