Enchanted Kingdom Is Unveiling a New Ride This Month

(SPOT.ph) Summer isn’t just for beach trips—it’s also the best time for outdoor theme park adventures. Imagine soaring through the air on a roller coaster, the sun blazing overhead, only to be met with a gust of wind and an adrenaline rush that makes the heat a little more bearable. 

For thrill-seekers in Metro Manila and the greater Luzon area, Enchanted Kingdom is the go-to destination for a solid summer day of thrills and shrills. And while you might think you’ve experienced all the park has to offer, it’s time to reconsider.

Heads up: Enchanted Kingdom is unveiling a new ride this month.  If you've been looking for a reason to hit up this Laguna theme park, let this be it. Here's what we know (so far) about the upcoming attraction.

Check out Enchanted Kingdom's newest ride: EKlipse

Enchanted Kingdom has been teasing this new ride for a while, but it was only this March that they finally confirmed that it will be available to the public on March 30. 

The ride is called EKlipse, a play on the park's name, and what we believe to be the most telling clue about what it will be—a variation of the popular theme park ride Eclipse. For the uninitiated, an Eclipse-type attraction is a flat (i.e. not on a track like a rollercoaster), pendulum-based ride. It swings riders back and forth (or up and down) while also spinning them in circles, with some even flipping them upside down. This results in thrills (and shrills) and butterflies-in-your-stomach feelings caused by the sudden changes in direction.

Aside from the clever wordplay, the ride's mechanisms resemble those of another Eclipse ride at Luna Park in Coney Island, New York. (clip borrowed from Extreme Thrills)

The ride is going to be at the right side of the park. Just turn right from the fountain, and walk right past the shops. There's no missing EKlipse; it's a pretty tall ride. 

EKlipse will be the latest addition to Enchanted Kingdom's over 30 attractions. It's also one of their landmark projects to celebrate the park's 30th anniversary. So if you haven't been to the park or if you're looking for a fun thing to do near Metro Manila this summer, this is the best time to head to Laguna and explore Enchanted Kingdom. 

How to book tickets to Enchanted Kingdom:

Tickets to Enchanted Kingdom are available online and at ticket booths in the park. Ticket prices start at P1,200 for regular day passes, and P840 for junior passes (i.e. children below 4ft).

Here are the ticket prices for Enchanted Kingdom:

• EKspress One-Day Pass: P2,200
• Regular Day Pass: P1,200
• Junior Day Pass: P840
• Senior Citizen/PWD: P840
• Junior PWD: P600

If the above prices are sending your wallets into a tizzy, don't worry. There are a slew of promos that'll grant you discounted rates for tickets. Just note that most if not all the discount promos are only available for purchases made onsite during the date of visit. 

Alternatively, you can also book tickets via Klook. The plus side of booking on the third-party platform is that you can also add shuttle services to and from the park. 

Enchanted Kingdom is at San Lorenzo South, Santa Rosa, Laguna. It is open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Ticket rates start at P1,200. For more information, visit Enchanted Kingdom's website.
